Bio: Elena is the third generation to farm her family's vineyard at the base of extinct volcano, Mount Vulture.
Aside from organic farming they also practice rainwater recovery, energy conservation with a photovoltaic system and bio-architecture, and use weather stations to pinpoint interventions to better limit the human impact in the vineyards.
Elena's grandfather, 94-year-old Generoso, and her husband still work in the vineyards alongside three employees.
SCEG (pronounced 'Sheg') is a bottling made from the grapes of her grandfather's friend, who also farms organically.
