Typicity: Typical. Trimbach is a 'Benchmark' producer exhibiting classic styles of Alsatian wine.

Bio: Trimbach is Alsace's largest and most well known winery. Situated in the town of Ribeauvillé, not far from its humble beginnings in Riquewihr in 1626, and is still family owned and operated today. The 13th generation cultivates in as much the same way as Jean Trimbach did. Like most of France, the family has moved away from conventional viticulture and to organic practices with a stronger focus on soil health and biodiversity.

What sets the Trimbach family apart is their rigor in the cellar paired with judicious use of laboratory techniques to protect the wines at all points. All harvested grapes are weighed and potential alcohol measured by Pierre and Julien Trimbach personally. Each plot is vinified separately to be blended for what the family feels embodies their style. Racking is performed by centrifuge. All aging is determined by barrel tasting. At bottling, ceramic filters are used to remove any remaining sediment.
