Vineyard Management: Organic and Biodynamic methods

Winemaking: Native yeast fermentation, employ new French oak for aging, Unfined/Unfiltered

Vegan: Yes

Typicity: Yes, Rhys is an exceptional producer of wine with parcels in Anderson Valley and the the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Bio: The winery is a spared-no-expense approach to winemaking. Kevin Harvey began this venture in 1995 in his garage, making wine with his own plantings. Harvey's career as an electrical engineer turned software developer turned venture capitalist means he requires excellence at every point and has the means to fund it.

All vineyards employ strict organic and biodynamic practices to ensure soil health and biodiversity. The vast array of one-ton fermenters in the cellar allows them to foot-tread and micro-vinify tiny parcels, all without pump-over. They buy new unstaved French Oak for cooperage.

The results are a well polished wine where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. They make incredible wines every vintage, without fail.

It's also important to note that larger wineries are also convinced that soil health is the most important component of the whole process.
