Bio: The Alessandria family first established their farm in the village of Verduno in 1870. It was in Verduno where the first Nebbiolo's were bottled and was for most the 20th century, Verduno was the face of Barolo.
Alessandro Batista and his brother Vittore work in the cellar, while their father Gian Battista manages the vineyards.
Monvigliero is considered the Grand Cru site of Verduno. the steeply graded site of marne di Sant'agata soils is the acme of the commune's potential for Nebbiolo.
