Founded in 1979, North Berkley Imports and wine shop is one of the many early players of the of the slow food movement that began some forty years ago in downtown Berkeley. Most notably home to Alice Waters' Chez Panisse which is just up the street from their shop.

They focus on Italian and French wine from small family run wineries who practice organic and biodynamic viticulture, use indigenous fermentations and minimal additions.

Their portfolio is one of the best in the country for hidden gems and icons alike.
